Partners in Science New England Air Museum, Windsor Locks, CTThe New England Air Museum is located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. The museum showcases the evolution of flight including the scientific principles, the technologies and materials involved and the history of flight. There are ties to the 2004 CT Core Science Curriculum Framework as well as providing an opportunity to enrich the science curricula with strong cross-curricular ties to social studies/history units. During their visit to the museum, the students can observe demonstrations on the principles of flight and the various technologies and materials involved and then receive a guided discussion and walk-through of the exhibits featuring many planes and models. Students are able to get inside some of the planes and experience the feel of a cockpit. This list is not intended to be a complete listing. The museum staff can offer some suggestions of pre- and post visit activities that the students can do in their classroom.
