4-H Educational Center at Auer Farm, Bloomfield, CT

The 4-H Education Center at Auer Farm is a private, non-profit located just minutes from Hartford, off route 185 in Bloomfield, CT. This 120-acre farm provides valuable hands-on science experiences to more than 18,000 children throughout the year. Seasonal and year-round programs are offered to school classes, community groups, and the public in the Center's animal barn, gardens, classes, farmlands, and orchards.

Through interaction with education staff, students learn how agriculture science affects everyday life. Lessons in biology, biotechnology, horticulture, and math support the objectives recommended by the Core Science Curriculum Framework for Connecticut Schools. Programs encourage critical thinking and curiosity, while providing the concrete discovery experiences essential to motivate and inspire scientific inquiry.
